Nikki Goossens appointed as CFO

Nikki Goossens (33) has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Van den Bosch. With effect from 1 April 2021, she and CEO Rico Daandels will form the board of the company.

Goossens is no stranger to Van den Bosch. Starting as a Finance trainee in 2012, she progressed to Manager Finance (2016 – 2020) and Manager Business Control (2020 – present). In recent years, she has come to know every aspect of the organisation and business processes, and so the CFO appointment represents the next step in her career.

Business processes

In the role of CFO, Goossens will be responsible for strategy and policy development, as well as the day-to-day management of the organisation together with CEO Rico Daandels. Goossens will focus mainly on improving and managing the internal business processes. Her portfolio includes Finance & Control, Human Resources, Quality, Legal, ICT and Procurement.

Growth ambition

Daandels is delighted with the appointment. "At Van den Bosch, we believe it’s important to give young talent the opportunity to grow. I have come to know Nikki in recent years as a skilled and ambitious colleague, and I have every confidence in her new role as CFO." Shareholder Peter van den Bosch is also enthusiastic about the appointment of Goossens: "As a logistics service provider, we have a strong growth ambition, with full commitment to data, insight and knowledge that will make intermodal bulk logistics smarter, better and more sustainable. Nikki has the right knowledge and experience to achieve our goals."

Passion and ambition

Goossens is looking forward to this new challenge. "I am grateful to Van den Bosch for this great opportunity. There are wonderful challenges in the areas of optimisation and digitisation. In my new role as CFO, together with my colleagues, I will build passionately and ambitiously on our new proposition as The Supply Changer in Bulk."

Goossens obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and a Master’s in Strategic Management at Tilburg University, and completed the training as a Register Controller at TIAS School for Business and Society.

    Jointly investing in sustainable kilometres

Van den Bosch is fully committed to sustainability. One of the steps it is taking in this respect is to use HVO 100, in other words hydrotreated vegetable oil, as an alternative to fossil diesel in road transport. With a view to making this process as efficient and transparent as possible, we are developing a new tool that will allow us to calculate automatically how much HVO is needed per transport - as well as the associated costs, CO savings and certification.
