Van den Bosch opens new branch in Grimsby

Van den Bosch is taking the next step in the development of its operations in the United Kingdom with a new branch in Grimsby. Following Birmingham, this is the logistics service provider’s second location in the United Kingdom.

Van den Bosch has been active in the UK for many years, providing intermodal transport of dry and liquid bulk goods for the food and chemical industries. The Grimsby site strengthens the company’s position in a key logistics region. “We are located right by the port, in the heart of a major industrial area,” says Tony Lill, Transport Manager at Van den Bosch.

Strategic location

As Transport Manager, Lill is responsible for the location and the fleet. “Containers come off the ship and can be transported efficiently from A to B. In addition, the branch functions as a depot, providing storage facilities.”

Depot and facilities

Van den Bosch rents space on the H&P Freightways site where more than twenty vehicle-trailer combinations can be parked. There are also facilities for storage, cleaning and heating liquids such as oils and glycerine. Empty containers are also stored here and prepared for reloading. The site also serves as a home base for Van den Bosch drivers in the region.

Growth and network expansion

From Grimsby, the company primarily serves customers in the Midlands and the North of the United Kingdom. The site offers additional flexibility in logistics operations. The network is expanding, leading to further growth in the British market. “From Grimsby, we primarily want to grow further in the region. Through good cooperation and smart planning, we can operate more efficiently and serve more customers,” explains Lill.
