New Ultra-light chassis raises sustainability to a higher level

Van den Bosch is driven by innovation and development: we aim to make headway every day. After the launch of the High Volume Ultra Light tank container, innovations around the Ultra Light chassis are now being taken to a higher level.

The first Ultra Light chassis was developed for countries that legislate for a maximum axle load of 3 times 9 tonnes. That includes the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. “Thanks to the further development of the associated Ultra Light chassis, an optimal payload can now also be achieved in countries where different legislation is applied regarding axle loads and distances,” explains Emiel van Haren, Operations Director Liquid Bulk division at Van den Bosch.

Reduction of CO2 emissions

The new chassis has been developed for countries where legislation is based on a maximum axle load of 3 times 8 tonnes. This applies to countries such as Hungary, Spain, England, and Sweden. “It is unique that an optimal payload of 30 tonnes can now also be achieved in these areas,” says Van Haren. “Efficiency in logistics not only increases convenience but also sustainability within the supply chain. By optimising the payload, fewer runs are required to transport the same amount of freight. This results in a reduction of CO2 emissions.”

Next step

Van den Bosch previously launched the High Volume Ultra Light tank container. With a capacity of 35,500 litres, payload optimisation, maximum insulation value and ground level-controlled equipment, it is one of a kind. “Thanks to the new Ultra Light chassis, the next step is being taken in terms of sustainability,” says Van Haren.
