Transparency, clarity and efficiency. The collection of a variety of data can make things easier and more insightful. Not only for Van den Bosch, but due to the possibility to share this data, also for the customers. This provides customisation for the entire supply chain.

Insight and knowledge, and particularly data play an important role in logistics. Van den Bosch has been working with Quintiq, an Advanced Planning System (APS), for a couple of years in order to set up complex supply chains, manage logistical flows, and to predict future needs based on data. Being fuelled by data allows for the most efficient route to be calculated, and insights to be provided. By means of the online customer portal, FreightInsight, Van den Bosch makes it possible to share this information with the customers. Information about orders becomes transparent, and customers themselves do not need to act in order to receive answers to certain questions.

Extra security and safety
The need for transparency and security is growing. Van den Bosch provides a solution to this with the Smart Load Units. Unique, due to that Van den Bosch not only offers transparency regarding the location of the truck but enriches the available information with all the data from their system. With all this available data, extra transparency, clarity and information is offered to the customer: and additionally, extra security and safety.

With a customer base of over 800 customers, each with their own prohibited previous loads to their own loads, and specific cleaning requirements, it is quite a task to meet everyone’s wishes. Nevertheless, Van den Bosch makes this possible with thanks to their advanced Quintiq planning system. Through its implementation, customer needs are recorded, and complete quality documents are translated into variables with which the system plans.

In more simple terms, this entails that an unwanted product can no longer be loaded prior to another certain product. With this system, which is unique to the logistics sector, Van den Bosch can guarantee to meet the customer’s wishes, and more importantly, guard the quality, and thereby the safety of the product. As far as we are concerned, that is a great customer promise.
